Chocolate Amatller was established in 1797 in the Born neighbourhood of Barcelona, the soul of the city with bustling streets, a long history of shops and a passion for food.
Today, just metres from where Gabriel Amatller made his first creations, we present our information centre and gourmet shop: a space designed to share our history, our ties to the city and our passion for chocolate.
In the Amatller Experience, we invite you to join us on a 40-minute tour that combines history, tradition and flavour. A journey that connects the origins of our brand with today’s Barcelona, awakening the senses through aromas, textures and tastings.
What will you experience?
- An audiovisual journey that takes you back to Barcelona at the end of the 18th century to discover how our history began, our ties to the city and the legacy of Gabriel Amatller.
- Sensory immersion through an exclusive tasting set, where you can discover the flavours, aromas and textures of a curated selection of our most emblematic creations, such as Flors and Thin Leaves.
- Cocoa-making workshop, where we relive the artisan process used to shape our first chocolates in Gabriel Amatller’s workshop.
- Traditional hot chocolate, an invitation to discover how drinking chocolate was consumed in Barcelona, a deeply-rooted tradition in the city, prepared with the original Chocolate Amatller formula.
